Monday

The fact that it is a Monday and you have to be in class by 7.30am, will definitely make you question your commitment to this place. Today is Day One (acorrding to the academic cycle, which has six days, counting from day one to day six). You get a morning break for 15-20 minutes at 10.30am. You go for snacks in the cafeteria and head back for classes (you really need it because you woke up late and skipped breakfast in order not to be late for first block). You are very lucky to be done with classes before 2pm when classes usually finish. Lunch starts at 12.30pm and ends at 2.30pm so you will have ample time to have your lunch when it suits you and your timetable. There are no Triveni activities (those are "must do" commitments!!) on Monday, so after lunch you might head straight home since you are still in the weekend mood. Well usually, you join friends at the social centre, swimming pool or just stick in your room and attack the ton of work which will always continue to sit on your back, be it a Monday or not. If you are not that fortunate, you might have classes scheduled for this time in the rare event the class cannot find any other time to meet. The Faculty head for the meeting at 4pm and students join them for a college meeting at 5.

Tutor meetings usually follow college meetings and any other important meeting that needs to decide on a convenient time. Often you find yourself needed for three or four meetings at once. Most people head back to their houses after the meetings and, if they finished early, hang around until dinner time. From 6.30 to 8 is dinner. After dinner the week’s Triveni can officialy start but these have to be over by check-in. It’s pretty much working and talking to friends after check-in, which also happens to be the time most people are alert and working.

Tuesday

Tuesdays represent a very important day in the academic cycle of a MUWCier. "This is India" is held on this day, as in every Day Two of the cycle. After your normal class schedule it is again Triveni life at its fullest. Activities on this afternoon range from the website design meetings, fire service, and global affairs planning meeting with Sadhana Special Friends thrown in as well. Almost every campus member will be involved in at least one of many concurrent activities every afternoon. That does not mean you don’t have any other classwork or friends to catch up with, though, and if you are in the "Nationalism and Internationalism" course you have a discussion this night. You still have assignments, and important long-term work still to do, such as Extended Essay, labs, TOK, and a lot more.

Wednesday

It is a Day Three in the academic cycle, and middle of the week too. Everything is no longer in the weekend mood. Most Actions take place on Wednesdays and some Community Interactions as well. Hey, everyone has their own timetable. There might be some University visits in the afternoon (you check that with the University Guidance Office), It might also be the time to do your Creation, and do not forget your homework! And someone has a birthday? Report at their party at midnight. Ease into sleep sometime that night, you still have a Day Four to face the next day.

Take it easy, the weekend is in two days…

Thursday

It’s a Day Four, you start another intense day (just like any other). You might have TOK discussions, a couple of Triveni activities yet undone for that afternoon, and wait patiently for the “Hours in the Dark” movie screening that night. See an interesting movie there, or attend the casual Faculty Lecture Series, yet an even more informative activity which takes place on Thursdays. Remember to check-in and, if there is a Student Meeting, don’t miss it. Last minute wrapping up of the assignments due by end of the week. Get some time with your housemates for house dinner or just have fun with friends. There is always something happening somewhere, and there is no space for boredoom. Everyone is quite happy that a weekend break is just a day away.

Friday

Last day of the week… but not the cycle. It’s just Day Five. Nevertheless, we are happy the week is over. You go through the day with great anticipation of its end. It is even better news if the weekend happens to be Exeat Weekend, so that you can go off campus for a night or two. Submit the due labs and assignments. Don’t forget Global Affairs! It happens on Day Five! The discussions there are invariably very interesting. This day always ends with a happy note. Do a few activities you haven’t done during the week – especially Creations. Good time to start relaxing. A good place to do so is the pool, in or by it. Or the Social Centre. To start the weekend right, you may go out to dinner in Paud (if you are not out already for an overnight stay somewhere.)

Great day. Best part of it is just letting go of the week’s worries and relax.

Saturday

Saturday is for hikes, especially if it is just after the moonsoon. It is also a day for Pune shopping, sleeping, and, if you are taking film studies, you might have class.

A lot of other things happen as well, like cage football, dance shows, maybe the New Moon Festival with tea and all, capture the flag, inter-wada swimming compettitions, you can go for a walk in the bird trail, and it is the best time to visit your friends and just chill there. Best day to watch a movie also (since you do not have to get up early the day after). You can take a walk down the hill or go up the internet hill during the evening. Second years can sign up for dinner at the Wilkinson’s as well! It is time to think about doing your laundry, or going to a university presentation by a visiting representative. If you like cooking you can cook dinner for yourself with your roommates and friends in the common room. All in all, it’s just about relaxing, having fun, and catching up on sleep.

Sunday

Sunday mornings are by far the laziest on campus. It might be brunch, but even by 10am not very many souls are awake. Yes! We all get to sleep in because of the hectic lives that we live. It’s the day that you get to catch up with yourself. The morning part of a Sunday is usually eventless. Lunch, as usual, will be from 12.30 to 2.30pm. Now is when you’ll get to see people who just woke up. As the afternoon passes, people are usually locked up in their rooms catching up with lost sleep or work depending on which was compromised the most during the week.

Social interactions will begin around 4-5 pm where different moods call for a change of activity from sleep or work. Some people just relax in the Social Centre watching TV, playing pool, table tennis or getting snacks. It’s also one of the best times to take a swim while overlooking the sunny valley. At sunset, you will find our nature lovers gazing admiringly at that beautiful view. Even if you don’t admire nature that much, this will certainly catch your attention. The best spots for this are by the pool or on the bird trail. Then you see people carrying music equipment to the Wada 2 common area and you remember what was announced at college meeeting that Monday.... Wada Concert!!! You must not miss this. This will usually drag on to around check in time, which is 45 minutes earlier on school nights. Sunday after check-in is the time to catch up on the last minute homework and plan ahead for your week. Many students will invariably think Monday is Day One... but watch out, this Monday is Day Six.
