Overview

Rather than “service”, which is a one-way relationship of hierarchy, Community Interaction at MUWCI encourages students to recognize that the relationship with our surrounding communities must be one of equity, in which we share our experiences, knowledge, and energy, with the experiences, knowledge, and energy of the populations on which the CI activities focus. For many students, CI forms the centering focus of their experience and education at MUWCI.

CI activities at MUWCI focus broadly in four areas: a) education; b) interaction with children; c) interaction with the mentally handicapped; d) development (health and infrastructural). Although the geographical range of the activities reaches nearly to Pune, the increasing focus of CI activities is on the communities immediately surrounding the college.
