Visual Arts: (HL and SL)

The Art and Design course provides students with opportunities to make personal, socio-cultural and aesthetic experiences meaningful through the production and undertaking of art. No previous experience of art is needed.

Film

The Film Course is a new course introduced by IB in 2003. It is an exciting course that aims to develop in students creative and critical skills in respect of film. It aims to teach students to formulate ideas and stories in cinematic terms and to impart the technical skills to realise them. It also seeks to broaden their critical understanding of the film medium. Film history, language of cinema and the cultural aspects of cinema, therefore, form a part of the course. A hands on training in this course is as important as critical analysis of films. Students are expected to make their own films on DV at the end of the course.

The course is offered at Higher and Standard Levels and is an ideal prelude to a full time professional course that students seeking a career in film may like to do in University film schools.

At present, MUWCI is the only school in India and one of only a handful in the world which offers this course for IB.

Theatre

Introduced for the first time in 2006. It is limited to 12-15 students, and instruction is offered at SL and HL. If more sign up there will be auditions in the first week.
