Greetings from MUWCI! The new academic year has started and I wanted to update all of you on one very important event that took place this summer...the Pioneers Reunion! All of us at MUWCI were very happy and excited to host the first reunion. The Pioneers spent four days with us and amongst the various initiatives discussed I would like to share two with everyone immediately:
MUWCI Alumni Chapters: with 10 batches of MUWCI students spread all over the world, there is a definite need for alumni chapters to start in different parts of the world and multiple in some countries. The focus of these chapters initially would be to contact all alumni in their area, have them update their information on the alumni database, liaise with the MUWCI Development Office, create forums for periodic meetings/workshops etc, contribute to the Alumni Newsletter and liaison with National Committees on a regular basis. There are a number of pioneers who have already signed up to coordinate chapters and will be contacting you shortly. However, as there are a number of alumni in each area, I would encourage every one of you to contact the pioneer in your area. The list of coordinators and their regions are listed below. If you would like to initiate a chapter in your area then please feel free to email me at alumni@muwci.net

To all alumni,
I imagine that this will be “old” news, however I want to take the opportunity to let you all know that Veronica and myself will retire from the College at the end of this academic year. We will leave India in early July to return to England from where we will work as consultants on the building of International schools in Lusaka, Zambia and back here in India, in Kolkatta.
For both of us, these last twelve years have been the most challenging and rewarding of our professional lives. To have seen so many of you achieve so much in so many different ways has made the experience truly worthwhile. As we go, we leave with the belief that the new head, Dr. Jonathan Long, will take the College further to even greater success.
In August, our first ten-year reunion will be held at the College and I would like to feel that this marks the point at which all of our graduates start to contribute financially towards the provision of scholarships. If each year group can mark its 10th anniversary by raising a full scholarship in that year and in every subsequent year, we will achieve our goal of a full scholarship College by the time we are 25 years old! You can start by taking a small step and make an annual donation that builds up to your reunion. We have now set up a direct payment scheme to make it easy to contribute. www.muwci.net/support
As we leave, our hope is that we will become a full scholarship college and that we will become so because of the generosity of our graduates. To all of you our very best wishes.
DAVID & VERONICA WILKINSON
Dear Everyone,
It is a sad task for me, but I must let you know that 'our' Mojo passed away this morning. He has had a grand life, travelled the world through all of you and made more friends than most people ever have.
He passed away in the AQ where he certainly attended more lessons than anyone of you have. He was not alone; I was there, petting his head and his sense of smell must have told him that his friend was near. His very last act was a prolonged wag of his tail. He died happy and no longer in pain.
We shall miss part of our College's history, but he remains in our memories.
Think kindly of our smelly 'old man'.

Thank you to everyone who has logged in updated their information and given me feedback on 'bugs". I really appreciate it :) If any of you would like a copy of our newsletter, From the Hill, please email me (alumni@muwci.net) and I will email it to you. I have tried adding it here but it sadly does not work.
Now one last request...for this year (I am not easy to satisfy). Please email me your parent information to alumni@muwci.net as we are trying to update that too.

Hi
I have just taken over Alumni relations from Dr. Veronica Wilkinson as both David and she are leaving at the end of this semester. She has posted a note for all of you on the Alumni page at http://www.muwci.net/alumni/ and should you wish to email Veronica her email id is vwilkinson@muwci.net
My first effort is to try and update the alumni database and this I cannot do without your help. Please take a few minutes to log in and update your information and if you need any assistance please email me at alumni@muwci.net. I look forward to working with you and hope that we can keep in contact however sporadically!
Smiles,
Nandita
